Pill testing provides information to people who are going to take drugs, and allows medical professionals to come in face-to-face contact with drug users and give them some sound advice.

Pill testing is already routine at festivals in several countries, with successful results.

The evidence is clear: the punitive, law-and-order approach to drug use simply doesn't work, and will not stop young people from taking dangerous substances at festivals. But we can minimise the risk of harm.

It's time to trial pill testing in NSW

Dear Members of the Parliament of New South Wales,

We are calling for the implementation of pill testing trials at festivals in NSW.

The evidence is clear: the punitive, law-and-order approach to drug use simply doesn't work, and is placing the health and safety of young people at risk.

Pill testing is not a radical idea. It is already implemented at festivals in several countries, and is supported by experts - including the National Drug & Alcohol Research Centre.

It's time for the NSW Government to take an evidence-based, harm reduction approach to drug law reform, and to implement a pill testing trial at festivals in NSW.
