Given the recent debate over foetal personhood laws, which would undermine reproductive rights and access to health services, it is now time to end the criminalisation of women's rights, and for the rights of all people who access abortions.

This bill, which would be the first of its kind in NSW history, would remove abortion from the Crimes Act and ensure rights to medical privacy by also legislating for privacy zones around premises providing abortion services to eliminate incidents of harrassment and intimidation.

We need your support and energy to change this outdated law, decriminalise abortion and ensure any person who chooses to access an abortion service is supported and free from harassment and intimidation.

Dear Members of the Parliament of New South Wales,

We want the outdated abortion offences removed from the NSW Crimes Act.

People who have an abortion, and their doctors, still risk prosecution in NSW. Abortion should be considered a health and welfare matter, not a criminal issue.

Until abortion is taken out of the Crimes Act, we will always be on the back foot defending their bodily autonomy and their right to medical privacy.

We ask you to support the decriminalisation of abortion in NSW and the enactment of privacy zones around abortion service providers and clinics.
